Sacristans are those who assist with the preparation for each Mass.
In many cases, they also serve at the Mass to assist the priest.
In order to become a sacristan, it is required
that you first become trained as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion.
Acolytes are those men who serve as sacristans
and receive special training from the Archdiocese’s Office of Worship
to assist the priests and deacons to purify the sacred vessels
that are used during each Mass.
If you are interested in becoming a sacristan and/or an acolyte,
please contact Peter Nguyen at pttnguyen@svdp-edu.org.
